Homemade Bagels with Mango-Orange Cream Cheese

For the Bagels

  • Vita Ice Orange Mango Sparkling Water
  • 3 ½ cups Bread Flour
  • 1 ½ cups Warm Water
  • 2 ¾ tsp. Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Salt
  • 2 qts. Water
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • Toppings Options: Sesame Seeds, Everything but The Bagel Seasoning, Poppyseeds, SeaSalt, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar

For the Mango-Orange Cream Cheese

  • 8 oz. Reduced Fat Cream Cheese
  • ½ cup Fresh Mango finely chopped
  • Zest of 1 Orange
  • ¼ cup Honey
  • Pinch of Salt


  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, whisk the warm water, yeast, and sugar together. Set aside for 8-10 minutes to activate the yeast.
  • Add the salt and 3 cups flour. Using the dough hook, mix on LOW for 2 minutes. Increase speed to Medium-High, knead for 4-5 minutes, adding ¼ cup flour as needed until a smooth and pliable dough.
  • Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Set aside in a warm environment for 1-2 hours, until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough. Transfer to a clean surface to divide into 8 equal pieces.
  • Roll each piece into a tight ball. Press your thumb into the center of each to create a 1.5” – 2” hole. Loosely cover with a tea towel to rest 10 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 425F. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Combine the water and honey in a large pot. Bring to a boil.
  • Boil the bagels for 1 minute on each side. Place the bagels on the prepared pan.
  • Brush with an egg wash and add favorite toppings.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, rotating pan halfway through, until golden brown. Let cool at least 20 minutes before slicing.
  • To make the cream cheese, simply fold all ingredients together until well-combined. Serve with the bagels.
