The Ultimate Nachos

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. Lean Ground Beef
  • 2 tbsp. Taco Seasoning (or the below seasoning mix)
  • 16 oz. Tortilla Chips
  • 4 cups Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup Tomatoes chopped, or Salsa
  • 1 Avocado chopped
  • 1/4 cup Red Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Jalapeños finely chopped and de-seeded
  • 1/3 cup Fresh Parsley or Cilantro chopped
  • Vita Ice Strawberry Watermelon for serving

For the Cilantro Crema Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Fresh Cilantro
  • 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper
  • Zest and Juice of 2 Limes

(Optional) For Homemade Taco Seasoning

  • 2 tsp. Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • 1 tsp. Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp. Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large skillet over medium high heat, add one tablespoon olive oil to heat up.
  • In the meantime, mix the ground beef and taco seasoning just until combined, be careful not to over mix. Add to the heated skillet, cook until browned and fully cooked.
  • Spread out half of the tortilla chips onto the prepared pan. Evenly spread out half the browned beef and half the shredded cheese on top. Repeat with a second layer of each. 
  • Bake for 7-8 minutes, or until the cheese if melted. 
  • Top with your favorite toppings such as chopped avocado, tomatoes, jalapeños, cilantro, and red onion.
  • Serve with the cilantro crema sauce on the side. Enjoy warm with Vita Ice Strawberry Watermelon for a refreshing drink!
